Licenses, Certifications & Memberships Covered
While in training, the program covers the cost of required licenses, certifications and select professional memberships, including:
- State of Alabama limited licensure
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- PALS and NRP certifications
- ALSO certification
- First attempt of the USMLE or COMLEX Step/Level 3 exam (when taken during training)
- Madison County Medical Society membership
For Family Medicine Residents:
- American Academy of Family Physicians membership
- Alabama Academy of Family Physicians membership
For Internal Medicine Residents:
- American College of Physicians membership
- American Medical Association membership
- Society of General Internal Medicine membership
Time Off & Additional Benefits
- 28 days of paid vacation, available on the first day of orientation
- Up to two weeks of sick leave, available on the first day of orientation
- Up to six weeks of one-time medical, caregiver or parental leave, available on the first day of orientation
- One additional week of paid vacation upon Program Director approval
