Lyle Bohlman, M.D.

Dr. Bohlman Graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1974 and trained in Family Medicine at Saginaw Collaborative Hospitals in Saginaw, Michigan. He has more than 45 years’ experience practicing medicine. He spent the first 11 years of practice in rural Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Montana doing full-service Family Medicine including OB. He then moved to Boston, bought an urgent care center, and was soon recruited into Family Medicine teaching where he became the associate program director at Tufts University Family Medicine residency.

He subsequently followed his wife to Louisville then Memphis where he served as a faculty member at University of Louisville Family Medicine Residency and became Medical Director of the family health center at University of Tennessee Family Medicine Residency from which he retired in 2015.

He was then recruited to become the medical director for FedEx Employee Health Centers at their headquarters in Memphis until 2022 when he again retired and moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he published a book of short stories about his many experiences in medicine.

In 2023 he was enticed to do precepting at the newly developed Crestwood Family Medicine Residency and was recently named the Program Director.

He continues to be an advocate for Family Medicine, the Patient Centered Medical Home, and the Healthcare for All movement. He is an inveterate Oklahoma Sooner fan, hoping to have a respectable opening season in the SEC.

He lives with his wife, Monalisa, his mother-in-law, Dolly and two home wrecking dogs Maddy and Boomer in Huntsville.
