Core Faculty & Subspecialty Education Coordinator (Infectious Diseases)
Dr. Ali Hassoun is a Clinical Professor of Medicine. He is an infectious diseases specialist, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He graduated from University of Baghdad school of Medicine and trained with the Royal Australian College of Physicians, Auckland, New Zealand and completed his fellowship at the Long island Jewish Medical Center, New York. He is the chairman of the Infection Control Committee at Crestwood Medical Center.
Dr. Hassoun is an avid soccer player and loves to travel. He has research interest in MRSA and clostridium difficile infection. He has many publications and presentations at national and international meetings. Dr. Hassoun has received many awards including the Janet Donoghue Red Ribbon Award for exemplary service as a health professional in the fight against HIV/AIDS and the COVID Warrior Award from the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
